Privacy Policy

Who we are
Everyday Oral Surgery is operated by Grant Stucki and Jacob Stucki. This policy explains how we handle information on everydayoralsurgery.com, including the podcast website and member community. For privacy questions or account-deletion requests, email everydayoralsurgery@gmail.com.
Information we collect and why
- Membership applications and profiles: your username, name, email address, account type, dental school, OMS residency when applicable, and other profile information you provide. We use this information to confirm your email, review your application, manage your account, and support the community.
- Community activity: posts, replies, uploads, poll responses, direct messages, subscriptions, and notification preferences. We store this information to provide those features and administer the forum.
- Subscriptions and correspondence: your email address when you subscribe or contact us, the content of your correspondence, and subscription records such as the signup date, source, and IP address. We use these to manage subscriptions and respond to you.
- Technical and usage information: IP addresses, browser/device information, request times, pages or features used, and cookies or similar identifiers. These support site operation, security, troubleshooting, and audience statistics.
Administrators receive application details, including education information, to review membership requests. Confirming your email does not by itself approve your application. Account and service emails may include verification, review, security, and forum notifications.
Who can see information
We do not sell your personal information or provide member data to sponsors or other businesses for their marketing.
We use service providers to host the website, deliver email and notifications, maintain backups, measure usage, protect forms, play media, and provide AI features. These services receive or process information needed for the features they provide, as described below.
Your profile and contributions can be visible to other people according to the page or forum’s access settings. Some forum titles and previews appear on public pages. Direct messages are stored by the website for delivery to their intended recipients; administrators may access site records when providing support or administering the service. Share only information you have permission to disclose, and remove patient identifiers from clinical cases and uploads.
Services used by the website
- Hosting, email, and backups: DreamHost hosts the website and handles outgoing site email. Site backups are stored in Google Drive through UpdraftPlus. Relevant information: DreamHost Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
- Google services: Google Analytics, integrated through MonsterInsights, helps measure site usage. Google reCAPTCHA checks form submissions for abuse and uses cookies and technical information. Fonts and other Google-hosted resources can also generate requests to Google. See Google’s privacy information. reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Terms of Service.
- Gravatar and spam prevention: Gravatar resources can send usage or technical information to Automattic when avatars are loaded. Akismet may process information submitted to features that use its spam checks. See Automattic’s notice for visitors to its users’ sites. Jetpack is no longer active on this website; its site synchronization, statistics and asset-delivery features have been disabled. Previously transferred information may remain subject to the provider’s retention practices.
- Podcast and embedded media: Buzzsprout serves podcast audio and collects listener-request information such as IP address and browser/app information. See Buzzsprout’s Privacy Policy. Embedded services, such as YouTube or Instagram, may also receive information when their content loads. External sites and podcast apps have their own privacy practices.
- AI features: forum summaries, tag suggestions, and other AI tools can send prompts and relevant post or thread content to the configured AI provider. The site is configured with OpenAI and Anthropic. See OpenAI’s business data information and Anthropic’s privacy information. Provider handling also depends on the applicable service agreement and account settings.
- Administrator alerts: Pushover can deliver site and forum notifications, including information contained in those alerts, when enabled. See Pushover’s Privacy Policy.
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where these providers operate. A provider’s policy describes its own processing; it does not replace this policy for information we manage.
Cookies and your choices
The website uses cookies and similar browser storage for sign-in, preferences, security, analytics, and embedded services. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking some cookies or third-party resources can affect sign-in, CAPTCHA, or media playback. You can request removal from the newsletter list by emailing us, and use an unsubscribe link where one is provided.
Retention and account deletion
Account and community records remain stored until removed through site controls or an administrator processes a removal request. Account deletion can require separate handling of posts, uploads, messages, and subscriptions. Copies can remain in retained backups. Security or legal requirements may also affect which records can be removed.
You can request access to or correction of your information, request account deletion, or ask about removing related content by emailing everydayoralsurgery@gmail.com. Tell us your account username and which information your request covers. We may verify account ownership before acting. Do not send your password. We will review the request and explain any additional steps or records that need to be retained.
Our limited site-health counters retain daily event totals for 90 days. The associated mail-failure log retains up to 50 records from the past 30 days and contains only a timestamp and general error code, not email bodies, addresses, subjects, or approval links. Other site and provider records can have different retention periods.
Security and policy updates
Login protection records failed-attempt IP addresses, attempted usernames, times and lockout information on our server. Local lockout records are limited to 500 entries and 30 days; daily security history is retained for up to 30 days before scheduled cleanup. Administrative and publishing accounts require a second authentication factor, with email codes sent through the website’s existing email service. Passwords and complete login codes are not stored in these security logs. This login protection is not connected to a separate cloud security account.
We use HTTPS, account access controls, email verification, administrator review, and backups to help operate and protect the site. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We may disclose information when required by applicable law.
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Contact Grant Stucki and Jacob Stucki at everydayoralsurgery@gmail.com with questions or requests.
